THE SONGS
The Songs
Good Morning
Many have asked recently about the songs that I play at the end of some of our devotions. The particular interest usually seems to be, who wrote them and who sings them.
Since I don’t usually like to take up much of our devotion time discussing these types of subjects, I thought I would write this Blog to answer these questions.
I personally write all of the Lyrics myself.
Many of them are poems that go back some twenty years or more. I have always loved writing even from an early age. They are songs that reflect my journey as well as many things I have observed by watching others go through the seasons of their lives.
I usually write the song based on a melody that I have in my mind. I hear the beat, tempo, etc. as I am writing.
I have a couple of software programs that I use, and I will sing the lyrics with the melody I have composed.
The software allows me to refine the vocals and set it to the tone and texture that I desire for each song. It also helps with the background instruments and overall composition of the song.
Although they are my vocals, they are refined for greater quality, (I am not that great of a singer. lol ).
In short, the lyrics of the songs are what’s most important to me. Anyone could sing these songs, but it is the message I long for others to hear. They are like mini devotions set to music.
I hope this answers most of the questions.
