THE FINGERPRINTS OF GOD PT. 1

The Fingerprints of God – Day 1

The Hand That Created Us

Isaiah 64:8

“But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

There is something unique about a fingerprint. No two people have ever shared the exact same fingerprint. It is one of the many reminders that God never creates duplicates. Every life is a unique work of His hands.

When we look at the world around us, we can see the fingerprints of God everywhere. We see them in the mountains, the oceans, the stars, and the changing seasons. Yet perhaps the greatest evidence of His handiwork is found when we look in the mirror. We are not accidents. We are not products of chance. We are the intentional creation of a loving God.

David understood this truth when he wrote,

Psalm 139:14

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

He recognized that God had personally designed every detail of his life.

Long before David became a shepherd, a king, or a man after God’s own heart, he was first the work of God’s hands.

Sometimes we become frustrated because we compare ourselves to others. We wish we had their abilities, their opportunities, or even their circumstances.

But comparison causes us to overlook the unique purpose God has molded into our own lives. The same God who formed Moses, David, Esther, Peter, and Paul also formed you. He placed gifts within you, experiences around you, and opportunities before you that are specifically suited to His purpose for your life.

Isaiah paints a beautiful picture when he reminds us that we are the clay and God is the Potter. A lump of clay cannot always see what the potter sees. During the shaping process, there may be pressure, stretching, and adjustments.

Yet the potter never loses sight of the finished design.

God is still shaping us according to His plan not our own.

Today, I encourage you to take a moment to thank God for the way He created you. Thank Him for your strengths, your experiences, your testimony, and even the lessons learned through life’s challenges.

Every part of your journey bears the fingerprints of a loving Creator.

The same hand that formed you is still at work in you today. You are not forgotten, overlooked, or unfinished, and His fingerprints remain upon your life, for all of your life.
