GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU - DELIVERANCE

God’s Plan For You – Deliverance

Our key verse in this week has been:

1 Peter 5:8 — “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

This reveals the enemy’s intentions, but the very next verse reveals the believer’s response and God’s direction.

1 Peter 5:9 — “Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

What we see is God never points out a threat without also giving us a strategy.

His plan for us is never defeat, it’s deliverance.

Notice the phrase: “resist stedfast in the faith.” We do not resist through our own  willpower.

We resist by standing firm on what we believe about God.

His character, His promises, and His presence in our lives.

As we have said before, Faith is not denying the struggle; faith is confidence in the Jesu in the midst of the struggle.

To resist in the faith means:

• Standing on what you know to be true, even when your feelings are trying to tell you something else.

• It’s Trusting God’s Word over the enemy’s lie.

• And Refusing to surrender your identity in Christ to a counterfeit.

Deliverance is not always instant,  so just stay consistant.

Jesus gives us the bigger picture in John 10:10 — we saw the first part of this yesterday;

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Here the contrast is clear. The enemy’s plan is subtraction — stealing peace, killing hope, destroying purpose. Christ’s plan is addition — life, fullness, abundance.

Here, Jesus tells us that there is a choice to be made.

Do we want to be consumed and robbed by the thief, or do we want to live in Spiritual Freedom.

Part of deliverance is not only escaping what harms you, but learning to focus on what Christ gives you.

When your attention stays only on the battle, your strength drains. When your attention turns toward the life Jesus provides, your strength renews.

So the question the Lord asks you is simple; “What are you focused on right now?”

What is getting all of your attention?

That will tell you if you are living in freedom or bound up in unnecessary burdens.

Abundant life does not mean a trouble-free life. It means a God-focused life.

A life where Grace is present, Forgiveness is real, your purpose is your focus, and your hope is alive and active — even during the struggles and valleys of life.

God’s plan for you is not merely survival, but restoration, freedom, and a growing experience of the abundant life found in Him.

In 2025, I made a clear decision to focus on the gifts God has placed in my life and to use them faithfully while I have the opportunity.

None of us knows how much time we are given, so it matters deeply to me that the seeds I sow today will produce fruit that remains long after I am gone.

That kind of lasting fruit only grows when we stay anchored in God’s Truth.

We cannot fulfill our purpose if we constantly give way to the daily attacks and traps of the enemy that try to pull us into doubt, discouragement, and heaviness of heart.

Instead, I believe we must keep turning our attention back to what God says is true about us — not the lies that seek to destroy our purpose.

When we stand on His truth, our strength is renewed, our direction is clear, and our purpose will be realized.
