THIS IS THE LIFE

This Is The Life

Psalm 90:14

“O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

There is something sacred about a quiet porch in the early morning.

I realize that everyone may not have a front porch, but it is a very scared place for my wife and I.

Before the noise begins. Before responsibilities start to press in.

Before the world starts demanding my attention. It is in those gentle moments — where the cool morning meets the day, that the heart often hears the clearest whispers of God.

I have found that some of the richest lessons in life are not learned in crowded rooms or under bright lights, but in stillness. The rustle of leaves. The soft song of a morning bird. The way sunlight stretches fields before me.

In those small settings, worries seem to lose their volume, and praise begins to rise in their place.

Life does not have to be loud to be meaningful.

We live in a world that measures success by what we see, or by who sees us. Bigger platforms. Louder applause. Larger recognition. But Heaven measures things differently. A faithful heart or just a quiet obedience that no one else may ever see.

There is freedom in not having to build a name, or reaching for our own spotlight  of glory.

There is peace in knowing we were never called to chase our own throne , only to love the Savior who already sits upon His.

When Jesus starts your day, your perspective changes. The simplest moments become sacred. A whispered prayer becomes strength. A front-porch reflection becomes your direction.

Ordinary memories become holy ground because His presence fills and fuels those memories.

Over time, those simple mornings turn into a lifetime of memories — shared with grandchildren, carried into songs, woven into conversations with the one who has walked beside you through every season like my wife has for me.

You begin to realize that the treasure was never in grand achievements, but in sacred moments along the road.

The sparrow still sings. The sun still rises. And the heart that listens will still find joy.

When you look back over your life, the pieces that shine the brightest are rarely the ones that impressed the world. They are the quiet mercies. The gentle provisions and the unseen guidance of God’s Hand.

The journey belongs to Him. He is writing your story  with care.

And when you learn to recognize His love in the smallest details, in porches and prayers, in family and faith, in whispers and worship — you discover something beautiful.

That is what “This Is The Life” is all about.
